HIGHLANDERS coach Erol Akbay says he is not feeling any heat despite his team going for four straight league matches without a victory.
Bosso were held to a 1-1 draw by champions Chicken Inn on Sunday in a match which was marred by controversy and violence at Barbourfields.
Sunday’s result was the only draw Akbay’s men recorded in their past four rounds of fixtures having lost the other three matches to CAPS United, Mutare City Rovers and Triangle.
But despite the disappointing show by a team which at one point, was at the summit, Akbay said he was happy with his charges’ performance in those matches.
“I am quite content with my team’s performance,” he said.
“The lads are playing fantastic football,but somehow the results are not coming. It is my hope that we will start posting some positive results in the coming matches otherwise we are still in the championship race.”
The Dutch mentor said he will not be affected by the pressure that comes with coaching the Bulawayo giants.
“Yes I respect the fans because they own the game,” he said.
“I respect them a lot because football would be boring without their cheers, but I am saying they can’t pressurise me.
“I know what I am doing and I am very confident that we will have a huge say in the destiny of the league title.
“Some of my strikers whom I trust to put the ball in the back of the net are nursing different injuries so I am saying when they return, most probably next weekend, I think we will start winning.”
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe international striker Knowledge Musona scored his second goal in three matches in the Belgium top-flight league at the weekend.
Musona converted a second half penalty to level the scores for KV Oostende in their 2-1 win over Mouscron-Péruwelz on Sunday.
The Zimbabwean leads the scoring charts with six other players.
