Alexio Kawara to perform at Joburg Festival

South Africa on September 23.
The Afro-jazz artiste will perform alongside musicians like Ringo Madlinkosi of the hit songs “Sondela” and “Into Yami” among others.

The “Shaina” hitmaker said he was happy to be part of the festival and he was looking forward to be performing in South Africa for the first time.
“It is such an honour to perform at the festival and I am going to do my best and represent Zimbabwe well,” he said.
He added that fans should expect new songs from his upcoming album titled “Tose”.

Kawara urged his fans to come in their numbers and experience jazz music at its best.
“I urge fans in South Africa to come and witness jazz music being taken to another level,” said Kawara.
The festival has become an annual feature on the South African calendar for the past two decades and such stars like jazz sensation Lira have performed at the show.

The event is a project of the City of Joburg that gives back to its residents and visitors through a combination of free and reasonably priced arts and culture events.
The project is housed in the Directorate of Arts, Culture and Heritage, taking place in spring each year and usually running for almost the full month of September. Apart from music, the festival seeks to give a platform to artistes on poetry, dance and visual arts among others to showcase their talent.
