BENJANI Mwaruwari will be under a lot of focus today when Highlanders host FC Platinum in a Good Friday Castle Lager Premiership match at Barbourfields.
Yesterday, Benjani stunned the media when he went ballistic to reveal that he feels there are some individuals who have been sabotaging his reign at Bosso. He is angry with the club’s failure to secure a work permit for Zambian forward Isaac Lunga, who has now spent over a month without getting the documentation.
“I think I should now go public, you know sometimes you have to have full support but I’m starting to see some negative things.
“As a team we need to push together, pull in one direction, we need to work so hard. The boys are pushing, I’m pushing but somehow, somewhere, there is a problem.
“I will be honest,” said Benjani.
Who is really wants to bury The Undertaker at Bosso?
“I needed maximum support, but I feel like that is not happening. I don’t know maybe there are individuals who are not fully behind this project.
“It is difficult to understand how a work permit can take more than a month.”
The coach hinted at deeper issues within the club, raising concerns about possible resistance to his tenure. “I am beginning to notice certain things that seem to work against what we are trying to achieve as a team. That is not helpful, especially when we are trying to move forward.
“I know that many people did not want me here, but that will not stop me from giving my best for this club. My focus remains on improving the team and delivering results.”
