ALL is set for Sandra Ndebele’s belated birthday celebrations set for tomorrow at Amakhosi Cultural Centre with popular dance group Iyasa also being roped in for the celebrations.The birthday party will see orphans and under-privileged children from different homes from the city coming to see the star perform. The event starts at 12noon and ends at 5PM.
In an interview yesterday, Ndebele said she wanted to spend her birthday giving to the less fortunate. She said there will be jumping castles and activities for the children.
“I will perform for the children from various homes dotted around the city. I will be painting their faces and there will be jumping castles. I have a lot of affection for kids,” said Ndebele.
The Malaika hit-maker said a local food outlet had already pledged to donate food for the event.
“Innscor will provide the food for the children. There will be presents for the children as well,” said Ndebele.
She said she also roped in Iyasa to spend the day with the children. Iyasa director Nkululeko Dube said they wanted to perform for children as they were their number one fans.
“We tend to forget the people who love us the most that is the children. We want to perform for them in the afternoon as we normally do at our shows. This is part of our social responsibility,” said Dube.
He said their show was part of their farewell gesture as the group is set to leave for Europe in March. The month of January seems to be a good one for Ndebele as she was born on January 3 and tied the knot on January 16 with beau Nkanyiso Sibindi.
The star-studded, private wedding held at Nesbitt Castle saw South African diva Nani Ntengo from the group Platform One performing.
