All set for Billiat unveiling

Khama Billiat will make his first public appearance since his sensational return to the local Premiership when Yadah Stars unveil their 2024 squad at Heart Stadium in Waterfalls tomorrow.

The former Zimbabwe national team star signed for Yadah last week, in a US$70,000 deal that triggered a frenzy in the local football fraternity.

Billiat, whose contract with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs expired in June, was club-less until Yadah staged a massive coup, beating Dynamos and Manica Diamonds in a race for the 33-year-old player.

Yadah doled out US$20,000 for the sign-on fee and will pay Billiat a monthly salary speculated to be between US$2500 and US$5,000, making him the most expensive player in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Billiat will now be officially unveiled tomorrow at 4pm.

Admission into the majestic Heart Stadium is free and a live band will spice up the event.

“Preparations for the mega unveiling ceremony are underway, and we expect a huge turnout given the player’s profile,” said Everson Chatambudza, Yadah Stars chairman.

Billiat reportedly went for a short holiday in Victoria Falls soon after completing his move to Yadah Stars.

He is back in Harare and has been training with The Miracle Boys since the beginning of the week.
