With just a day to go before the official opening of the Harare International Festival of the Arts, one of the collaborative acts to watch out for is “The Future is Here”, featuring the trio of soulful diva Diana Samkange, Prince K Musarurwa and Cynthia Mare. The concept of the show is based on three different artistes from somewhat different genres who will share the stage using one band.

The artistes will perform all of their best releases both old and new as well as showcase a mix of jazz, R’n’B and Afro-fusion genres.
According to the concept manager, they “considered to do a unique and rare act for today’s arts, giving festival goers an hour of exciting music from some of Zimbabwe’s youthful artists.

“These artists will comprise those that have been in the industry bringing in a bit of experience and exposure as well as upcoming artistes who will bring in a fresh and untapped feel to the performance,” she said.

In addition to the fun, music lovers will also have a rare chance seeing the three artistes taking part in each other’s renditions.
HIFA 2014 is running under the theme: “Switch On” and ends on May 4 with a must attend show from Freshlyground.
