THE National Economic Consultative Forum (NECF), in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, will host a four-day Infrastructure Summit and Expo in Victoria Falls, which begins on Wednesday.
The summit, which is in its second year, will run under the theme “Accelerating Transport Infrastructure Development Projects in Zimbabwe: Towards World-Class Transport Networks by 2030”.
Acting NECF acting executive secretary Mr Muzi Muzite said the summit will focus on identifying barriers to the development, rehabilitation and investment in transport infrastructure in Zimbabwe.
“It will also focus on policy recommendations to promote investment in transport infrastructure projects in Zimbabwe, especially the PPPs (public-private partnerships) model; coming up with an effective implementation roadmap for transport infrastructure projects in the country.
“It will also deal with lessons on what has worked in Zimbabwe and how the success stories can be replicated, given new realities and success stories from other countries,” he said.
Speakers drawn from key players in transport infrastructure development and international institutions are expected to attend.
Government departments, local authorities, contractors and financiers are also expected to participate.
