A charity benefit concert for Jairosi Jiri Centre will be held this Saturday in the Harare Gardens featuring Sabastian Magacha, Baba Manyeruke, Worship Addicts, Kudzi Nyakudya, Tembalami and ZimPraise choir.
In an interview, Jairos Jiri Centre manageress Grace Chirimumimba said the show proceeds would go to the centre.
“All is set for the show and musicians have already started rehearsing for the big day. We want to raise funds to develop the centre. We would like to thank the City of Harare for coming to our rescue as they donated the venue for free,” she said.
Chirimumimba said they are targeting to raise US$10 000.

“We want to buy office equipment which includes computers and stationery for our day to day running. Our physiotherapy department and orthopaedic centre need to be refurbished. I encourage people to come in their numbers and support the cause,” she said.
She said the show would give children from the centre a platform to perform one or two songs they have been working on.

The centre house 43 physically challenged children from two to seven years old.
Gospel singer Magacha said fans can expect some fireworks.

“I am going to deliver my best. Expect a mix of new and old songs from as well as free CDs to lucky fans,” he said.
The energetic musician, who is set to tour Europe in a few months’ time, said he will be supported by a youthful dance group.

“This is for the kids and I want to make it special to them. Right now I am working with my choreographer John Cole together with a dance outfit called Dot.com kids,” said Magacha.
