ORGANISERS of the Technical Education Sports Association of Zimbabwe (Tesaz) Games are putting together final touches ahead of the games start in Bulawayo tomorrow.

The games are held annually on a rotational basis and this year the Zimbabwe School of Mines is hosting them.

Twelve tertiary institutions from around the country are set to compete in various sporting disciplines.
Football, netball, athletics, basketball, darts, pool, and table tennis are some of the sporting disciplines which the tertiary institutions will compete in.

Morris Rashiti, a member of the local organising committee gave indications that all was on place for the games to get underway without hiccups.

“We are finalising venues and the nitty-gritties. Games will start on Wednesday and end on Friday with athletics taking place at White City Stadium on the opening day before other sports codes resume the next day.

“We are looking forward to having a successful tournament whose competition levels will be high,” said Rashiti.

Successful athletes will proceed to participate at the Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZTISU) games in Manicaland later in the year.

ZTISU incorporates the Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association (Zusa), Zimbabwe Technical Colleges Sports Association (Tesaz) and Zimbabwe Teachers Colleges Sport Association (ZITCOSA). -@innocentskizoe
