Matabeleland South gathers to honour fallen heroes

People have gathered at the Matabeleland South Provincial Heroes Acre in Gwanda ahead of today’s Heroes Day commemorations.

The commemorations will be presided over by the Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe.

Heroes Day is observed annually to honour and remember the country’s liberation war heroes and other national heroes who contributed to the attainment of Zimbabwe’s independence.

A total of 44 heroes and heroines are laid to rest at the Matabeleland South Provincial Heroes Acre.

The commemorations have drawn members of the public, war veterans, Government officials, traditional leaders and various stakeholders who have gathered to pay tribute to the country’s fallen heroes and heroines.
