In an interview, a spokesperson for Alliance, Gilmore Moyo, said the one and half hour show would be held in two parts, which are called Argile and Duo.
He said the juggling show is held as part of their arts and cultural activities that they hold on a regular basis in Bulawayo and Zimbabwe at large.
“Following the success of LMFAO – Stand Up Comedy and Linea, a juggling show we held last year in November, it is an honour to once again bring an international act to Bulawayo,” he said.
Moyo said this was the first event to be held by their new director, Marie-Helene Predhom who took up the post from Fabiene Invernizzi.
He said the show will see Belgian juggler, Nathan Israel doing a solo performance named Argile, which is a juggling and dance show.
In the solo performance, Israel will use his body to juggle with mud, finding balance between his body and clay.
“The act is comprises juggling clubs and clay. He juggles in search of transcendence. This show confronts two different juggling styles that feed his creation; the act of juggling with airy clubs and earthy juggling using clay,” he said.
The second part of the continuous show is an encounter between a juggler who is fond of Africa and the Far East. This act would be performed by a duo of Matchume Candido Zango from Mozambique and Thomas Guérineau of France.
“The two jugglers revisit transcendental principles that are dear to African culture. Thomas Guérineau – the unlike juggler, plays with gravity, juggling with plastic bags, clubs and balls, while Matchume plays percussions to add flavour to the act,” Moyo said.
He said the musical and dancing juggling act would be flawless and would definitely captivate an audience of both adults and children.
The percussionist, Zango accompanies Guérineau with traditional percussion which is meant to inspire and infuse Guérineau’s act.
The repertoire would be punctuated by traditional songs sung by Mozambican Zango.
