NGEZI Platinum Stars captain, Qadr Amini, is hoping that they transform their home ground, Baobab, into a fortress.
The champions have only lost once in the eight games they have hosted since the start of the season.
Ngezi suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of rivals FC Platinum at Baobab in the first battle of the Platinum Derby.
“We have only lost once at home, which is good for us as we push towards our target,” said Amini.
“With some of the games, especially in the first half being draws, we need to improve on that home record and collect maximum points in the second round.
“We have a huge fan base at Baobab, they are a passionate lot who stood with us even in difficult times so we need to give them something to celebrate.
“Our aim is to achieve a solid home record so we want to continue collecting maximum points as much as possible at home.”
The last time Ngezi played at home, they edged PSL debutantes Arenel Movers 1-0.
Tomorrow, the champions host ZPC Kariba.
“ZPC is not an easy opponent, we need to bring our A-game, we cannot afford to lose at home,” said Amini.
“We will take it like any other game, play for points and for our fans as they have proven over the seasons that they are critical in the team’s success.”
Ngezi will have a stern test of character in their next three fixtures.
After facing the Kabira-based side, they will play Manica Diamonds away at Sakubva, host Green Fuel at Baobab before taking on Highlanders at Barbourfields.
“We were taught to play as a unit and it has led us this far… we are talking about the notable positive progress of the team, and that of the individuals who make up the team,” he said.
“Our coming fixtures are tricky, we need to remain focused and aim for maximum points so we will leave no stone unturned.
“We noted during our difficult moments in the first round of games that most teams that we draw with would celebrate so we need to re-write that story.”
