A DZIVARASEKWA Extension man is on the run after allegedly raping and infecting his lover with a sexually transmitted disease.
Abisha Mutize, 26, was reported to have lured his girlfriend, 23, to his workplace where he raped her in a parked truck.
Abisha disappeared after the lover advised him that she was not feeling well.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving lovers,” said Insp Chakanza.
“Circumstances were that the complainant met the accused at Rasta Shops and the accused asked the complainant to escort him to his workplace.
“At around 2200 hours, the complainant asked the accused to escort her home since it was late.
“However, accused did not heed the complainant’s request.
“Instead, he persuaded her to sleep at his place and they retired to bed and slept in two different trucks.
“After a short while, the accused proceeded to the truck where the complainant was asleep and raped her without protection.
“The complainant went on to narrate her ordeal to her workmate,” said Insp Chakanza.
