TOP Zimbabwe amateur golfer David Amm left the country for the United States on Sunday for a four-year-golf scholarship.
Amm left the local scene on a high note as the country’s leading order of merit amateur as well as winning his last tournament, the Zimbabwe Amateur Stroke play, at Chapman last week.
The heavily-built 17-year-old is going to join the University of Toledo in Ohio, United States, where he is looking forward to continue with the sport.
Before he left the country, Amm said he was looking forward to improve his career before turning professional in the near future. Amm is part of the three-member team that will be taking part in this year’s World Golf Championships in Ireland.
Amm will be joined by Stuart Krog and Jack Allard to represent Zimbabwe at this year’s World Golf Championships, formerly the Eisenhower Golf Championships, in Ireland after they booked their place through some qualifiers at Royal Harare back in July.
