VICTORIA Falls-based singer, Andrea The Vocalist, has been hailed by various stakeholders after a polished performance last weekend in the resort city.
The 13-year-old shared the stage with Jah Prayzah,Winky D and Ammara Brown.
Entrepreneur and businessman, Tinashe Mutarisi, hailed Andrea for his performance and urged people to support him.
“Ladies and gentlemen from around the country, and all corporates within, ngatimboitei serious nemwana uyu.
“. . . this is God’s gift to Zimbabwe, we need to protect him,” said Tinashe in a Facebook post.
In an interview with his manager, Tendai Joe, he said:
“It makes me happy that Zimbabwe is starting to embrace the young star like that.
“We have worked hard and to see prominent people like Mutarisi embracing the boy warms our hearts.
“I have always believed that great things will happen for him and I think every good thing coming for the boy is well deserved,” he said.
Joe said as much as Andrea was talented, education was also a priority in his life.
“We are strict with his school work.
Monday to Friday is school, at school he is not an artist or celebrity, he is a learner.
“Then weekends, he gets to practice or do his musical activities, as per our programmes.
“We value his education and we would like to thank UK-based businesswoman, Ms Miriam Hakata, who is offering him educational support up to university,” said Joe.
Andrea is also working on his new music.
“We are working on his new music. I have built a team of producers and songwriters around him, including Bulawayo’s Vusa Mkhaya, who is based in Austria at the moment.
“There is a pending collaboration with Maphorisa.
“But, due to his touring schedule, it’s been hard to pin him down to a schedule that doesn’t clash with his education,” he said.
