POLICE have confirmed the arrest of another suspect linked to the US$4 million armed robbery at Ecobank Bulawayo, which took place on October 3, 2024.

In a statement, police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said 39-year-old Bhekani Mlilo was arrested on July 14 in Botswana while attempting to cross into the country from South Africa.

This brings the number of suspects arrested in connection with the high-profile heist to three, following the earlier capture of Abraham Temayi Vumbunu and Elijah Temayi Vumbunu in South Africa earlier this month.

“The due processes of the law are now taking effect for the suspect’s extradition to Zimbabwe,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

He said police are still hunting for other suspects believed to be involved in the robbery.
