A strong working relationship between Golden Lions and reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Scottland FC is beginning to bear fruit, with another promising youngster making the switch from Victoria Falls to Harare in a growing talent pipeline between the two clubs.

Zimbabwe Under-17 national team goalkeeper Blessing Mukachana, just 16, has signed a three-year contract with Scottland FC, becoming the latest product of Golden Lions to join the capital-based champions.

Mukachana’s move further strengthens what is fast becoming a structured player development and exchange pathway between the two clubs, built on trust, vision, and a shared commitment to nurturing young talent.

He follows in the footsteps of Jerome Muli, who joined Scottland from Golden Lions last season, underlining a clear trend of talent progression from the resort town side to the country’s top-flight champions.

The relationship between the two clubs has been described as more than just transfers, but a development-driven partnership aimed at giving young players exposure at the highest level.

Scottland, who lifted the PSL title in their most recent campaign, have increasingly looked to Golden Lions as a reliable source of raw talent, while the Victoria Falls-based side continues to position itself as a breeding ground for future stars.

Golden Lions director McMillan Kima Sibanda has played a central role in shaping this pathway, focusing on identifying and developing young footballers from the resort town and surrounding areas.

Sibanda says the vision is centred on creating opportunities that go beyond football at grassroots level.

“We are not just producing footballers, we are building futures. Our partnership with Scottland FC gives these boys a clear pathway from Victoria Falls to the highest level of the game. When they leave Golden Lions, it is not the end of development but the beginning of a bigger journey,” said Sibanda.

“The whole idea is to give these young stars a platform to showcase their talents, nurture them, then expose them so that at the end of the day these kids may get a living out of the beautiful game,” he added.

Sibanda expressed gratitude to all stakeholders supporting the project, describing the partnership with Scottland FC as a key pillar in the development model.

“Special thanks go to everyone who supports the vision. May God bless you,” he said.
Mukachana’s progression from Victoria Falls to the capital is seen as a major milestone not only for the player but also for Golden Lions’ development structure, which continues to gain recognition for producing technically gifted youngsters.

His rise has also been boosted by his involvement with national youth structures, having previously represented Zimbabwe at Under-17 level, where he was identified as one of the country’s promising young goalkeepers.

At Scottland, Mukachana joins a competitive environment under reigning champions’ high-performance standards, where he is expected to continue his development under experienced technical guidance.

The move also highlights Scottland’s growing strategy of investing in youth, blending emerging talent with experienced campaigners as they look to sustain their dominance in domestic football.

With Mukachana’s arrival and Muli already integrated into the system, the Golden Lions–Scottland connection is shaping into one of the most productive developmental links in Zimbabwean football.
