IT IS not looking good for actor, musician, and fitness enthusiast Tendai Chidarikire, who is down with a mild stroke.

Barely a month after he was diagnosed with thrombosis — which caused blood clots on his left leg — Chidarikire suffered another health scare early this week after he developed numbness in his left leg, which later spread to his hand. “I’m down again within a space of a month with what my doctor (name withheld) said was a mild stroke, which needs to be urgently managed,” Chidarikire told Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub.

“At first, I developed numbness on my left leg, which developed into my left hand.

“It was also triggered by hypertension, which shot up early this week.”

Chidarikire, who is now being managed at home after being discharged from a local medical facility, has remained positive as he battles illness.

“I was given a month-long programme that I am following as part of my therapy.

“I have no choice but to simply follow what medical doctors have advised.

“I will certainly do my best to ensure that I revive my career,” he confidently declared.

“Whether we like it or not, there are spirits of anti-progress and all this can only be addressed through prayer.”

He added: “What has really affected me is that the problem has come at a time when I need to fully recover and do other things, like my career.

“This illness has come at a time when I am determined to revive my career.

“I have been running my business in Harare, which requires a lot of hands-on work.

“It becomes difficult if I remain sick since I need to attend to several projects out there.”

Over the years, he has alternated between Zimbabwe and South Africa to pursue his craft. In South Africa, he established himself in commercials and soap operas, including Scandal.

As a versatile artist, he has explored several music genres, incorporating Kanindo, acapella, soul, and house — especially his album “Hona MaUSA”, which is among his rich catalogue of music. While he also made a name for himself as an actor in South Africa, Chidarikire showcased his acting talent locally when he featured in Studio 263.
