IT seems music runs in the Mhere family.
Danny Mhere, young brother to talented gospel heavyweight Mathias Mhere, has ventured into the gospel scene with an eight-track project that is laden with inspiring messages.
To those running short of faith and hope in life’s daily hurdles, the soothing album is a perfect cushion and will certainly heal their wounds.
The album, “NaJehovah Zvinoita”, is currently gaining rave reviews on national radio broadcasts and it carries tracks which include “Zvichanaka chete”, “Pakupedzisira”, “Murevi wenhema”, “Kurwa hakusi kwedu”, “Zvamachata”, “Paiva nerima”, “Mwari vedu varipo” and “Nyika inorema”.
The album was recorded at Devine Studios by Charles Ayibeki.
In an interview, Danny said his music gives hope to the hopeless and heals the betrayed and the wounded.
He said he was inspired by his fans’ response to the album and would release a DVD album as a token of appreciation in April.
“People who listen to my music have been very supportive and I am thankful. I am happy that my album is serving its sole purpose, that is, to uplift the hopeless.
“Jesus Christ is always our redeemer and offers his helping hand in time of trouble. We are busy preparing for my brother Mathias’s album titled From Glory to Glory before we finish some videos for my debut album,” he said.
The 30-year-old Danny, who was born in Gutu, recalled how he ventured into music more than 15 years ago in Mkoba high-density suburb of Gweru.
“I started music as a group member in the Mhere family in 2006. I was later appointed as a praise and worship leader at AFM in Gweru.
“I fell in love with music and never stopped singing. I went to South Africa to work there and came back in August last year to pursue my music career,” he said.
