adminSpeaking at the ceremony to distribute the seed to 16 churches on Friday chairman of AACZ Bishop Tsungai Ushe thanked President Mugabe for giving them the seed maize and being a father to the nation.
“This is what a father does when he is in charge of a family. He shows responsibility by giving us this seed maize and we would like to thank President Mugabe,” said Bishop Ushe.
He castigated Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai for his pro-gay rights stance and said it showed irresponsibility by him as a leader.
“We denounce homosexuality in its totality and we want to tell vaTsvangirai that his utterances show his irresponsibility as a leader and he is unfit to lead the nation,” said Bishop Ushe.
He appealed to the congregation not to sell the seed maize but use it to feed the nation by tilling the land.
“We have been given the Biblical talents by the President so use them wisely. Let us not see this seed maize being sold at places like koSekusile in packets.
“This seed maize will produce maize that will feed orphans and widows in the community,” he said.
Bishop Ushe, however, appealed to Government to allocate land to them so that they could plant crops that can feed the nation.
He appealed to members of all apostolic sects to come forward and get identification documents and birth certificates in order to participate fully in national programmes.
“Let us get those documents so that we can vote and get stands. When we vote we shall vote for President Mugabe, in fact we pray he rules forever because he is the greatest leader in Africa,” said Bishop Ushe.
He warned prophets in the church that the law would catch up with them if they were sexually abusing women under the pretext of performing healings.
“Rape cases are on the increase, we want you to report those who are doing the crime and we shall come swiftly and hand over the culprits to the police so that they get what they deserve,” said Bishop Ushe.
He made a plea to members of the churches to seek medical treatment first as people had died of conditions that were treatable in hospital.
“Let us go to hospitals for treatment. We can pray and administer holy water at the hospital, there is no problem,” said Bishop Ushe.
