Artists ready to warm the weekend

Over the past weeks several arts events, mostly live shows, have been affected by low temperatures and turnouts have not been convincing. However, the development has not stopped artistes from having their usual schedules and this weekend several events have been lined up for venues across the capital and outside.Tonight

The British Embassy in Harare continues to stage a theatre production of one of William Shakespeare’s finest comedies, “Much Ado About Nothing,” as part of celebrations to mark 400 years of the renowned author’s works. The staging began yesterday and continues today and tomorrow.

Pariah State hosts Metaphysics and Carlprit while at LongCheng Plaza in Belvedere Suluman Chimbetu takes his Orchestra Dendera Kings to Bar Rouge.

The event is meant to give music lovers chance to name the musician’s album that will be released in August and they are calling the event ‘Winter Party’.

At Dandaro Inn in showgrounds Jean Masters performs with her energetic crew.

Saturday

Gary Tight takes his outfit The Tight Band to Pablo’z for an event dubbed “Jazz Night”.

The young entertainer is working hard to have his brand spread to various music lovers. His father Willom Tight will feature at the show.

Bulawayo’s much-adored, all female ensembles Nobuntu ropes in Tariro NeGitare at Alliance Francaise for their album launch “Ekhaya”.

Dandaro Inn hosts Jah Prayzah for a winter warm show as he samples new songs from his coming album “Mudhara Vachauya”.

Sunday

With the low temperatures being experienced family shows have been the people’s favourite.

Extra Mile Leisure Spot in near Mbudzi Roundabout hosts Alick Macheso at a family show.

Macheso who released his album “Tsoka Dzerwendo” in March said he was looking forward to the show.

Pamuzinda Ice and Fire hosts Jah Prayzah, Sam Dondo and another musician Mbeu and Mhodzi Tribe.

Dondo, who is gaining ground with his new album “Dyara Munamato”, said he is happy with the way people are receiving him in the industry.
