Arubi, Murape back at Dynamos

WARRIORS’ goalkeeper Washington Arubi and seasoned striker Murape Murape retur-ned to Dynamos yesterday – boosting the Harare giants’ preparations for their campaign for the Champions League and Premiership.
The duo is contracted to Northern Region Division One outfit Highfield United who in turn agreed to loan them to Dynamos.
But the deal appeared to have collapsed after Dynamos allegedly failed to honour their obligations in terms of the loan agreement.
Arubi, who captained the home-based Warriors during a failed campaign at the African Nations Championships in Sudan, had not trained with DeMbare since Lloyd Mutasa took over as coach.
Murape had been coming to the training ground but, until yesterday, was yet to take part in the training sessions.
The pair’s return to training will also bring experience to Mutasa’s side and widen the youthful coach’s options ahead of Dynamos’ showdown with Highlanders at Rufaro on Sunday.
But just when Dynamos appeared to have hit the right codes by unleashing an exciting squad that beat CAPS United in a thriller on Sunday, a shadowy group has been rocking the club’s boat.
They distributed flyers around the capital and threatened Dynamos chairman Farai Munetsi. A large quantity of the pamphlets were strewn in the First Street Mall while some were left at Munetsi’s workplace at Nestle Zimbabwe along Samora Michael Avenue. The shadowy group also threatened Dynamos secretary Oliver Manyau, treasurer Harrison Mbewe and the club’s chief executive Casper Muzenda.
“Munetsi you are a thief, wakaita mari neDynamos through travelling agent yako Lomagundi,” read the pamphlet.
“Players ran away from Dynamos because of you, so leave Dynamos in 24 hours or else tichapedzerana ku ground.
The group accused Manyau of being a CAPS United supporter and gave him a day to leave office.
“You belong to CAPS United and WildCats, wakapedza kutengesa maplayers eDynamos kuCAPS United now we are giving you only one day to vacate Dynamos offices or else unotiona kumba.”
Mbewe has been accused of siphoning money from the gates at Dynamos’ home matches.
“You are a rotten pumpkin, you just sit and eat mari dzeDynamos uchiba kumagedhi.
“Siyana neteam yedu zvichakanaka wakura mushe,” read the pamphlet.
The group threatened to target Muzenda at his home in Avondale.
“Tiri kuuya kumba kwako kuAvondale West in two days’ time if don’t resign today.”
Munetsi said he was not taking the threats to his life lightly and he was set to make a report to the police.
“I have seen the papers but because of the threats, we are going to make a report to the police.I think the matter should be investigated by the police,” said Munetsi.
Manyau said he had also seen the flyers from the anonymous group.
“Squabbles at Dynamos are not a new thing. I am aware of the papers but, anyway, the chairman (Munetsi) is handling that issue,” said Manyau.
He said Highfield United had agreed to release Arubi and Murape while negotiations between the two clubs continue.
“We have not yet secured Arubi but he is training and we are still negotiating,” said Manyau.
But while the boardroom drama rages on at Dynamos, the picture looks calm when it comes to Mutasa and his players and yesterday he welcomed captain Desmond Maringwa and Reuben Mhlanga back in training.
Mutasa said anyone who still wanted to play for Dynamos should report for training by Tuesday.
“We had given an ultimatum that those who are committed to turn out for Dynamos should report for training by Tuesday while their issues are being addressed,” said Mutasa.
