AS A MATTER OF FACT

LAST week, we ran a story about a senior ZESA engineer who was duped into buying a stand set aside for a school in Budiriro.

Keith Chikomo, the ZESA engineer, was duped into purchasing the stand worth US$8000 by former Ward 33 Councillor Joseph Kumbirai Kunashe and his accomplice Godwill Matombo.

The two appeared in court charged with fraud.

The land is reserved for a primary school.

In that article, we published the photograph of two police officers, Allan Tonderai Mandizvidza, and Samuel Machivenyika, and wrongly identified them as Munashe and Matombo.

It was our mistake and we sincerely apologise to Mandizvidza and Machivenyika for the mistake which saw their photos being dragged into an article in which they didn’t have any interest at all. — Editor.
