TWO Hatfield men were on Friday arrested for cheating during a Mathematics examination.
Paddington Chataika, 37, of Georgewalker Road and Joseph Murimba, of Harare Drive, were arrested at Matthew Rusike College in Epworth.
A ZIMSEC official received a tip-off that Chataika was assigned by Chataika to sit for his Mathematics examination.
Upon arrival at Matthew Rusike College, the Harare Depot Loss control manager, Tadzoka Chirima, introduced himself to the headmaster, Tendai Mararike, and informed him of the purpose of his visit.
Chirima and Mararike interviewed Murimba who admitted that he was writing the examination for his friend Chataika who was waiting for him in the school car park.
This led to their arrest.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest.
“Police arrested two men in connection with an examination sitting at a college in Epworth.
“The two are facing fraud charges.
“The passport photocopy, which was used by one of the accused to sit for the examination, was a forged one.
“It has his photo and his friend’s details.
“He was also in possession of a police form claiming that his identification particulars were stolen and reported the case at ZRP Hatfield.
“The ZRP Form 162 was stamped,” said Insp Chakanza.
