FELI Nandi celebrated her 33rd birthday yesterday and her team said they kept it very simple.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, her manager Connie Mazani said they threw a surprise birthday party for the diva.
“We are keeping it simple. We are throwing a surprise birthday dinner for her with close family and friends,” she said.
In the spirit of her birthday celebrations, Feli Nandi has decided to feature more upcoming artists on her open verse challenge.
The song diva announced she will be doing a remix of her song “Vakaita Sewe” after a successful challenge featuring five artists.
However, Feli Nandi said she has decided to feature 19 artists.
“The plan was to choose just five finalists but they were all too good. So we decided to do a combined medley in choir format with 19 of them so that more can get the opportunity.
“Our last remix for Mubayei amplified birthed some superstars. We hope to do the same with this one as well,” she said.
The emotional track was produced by Alicious.
The original song is based on a true story.
It features her friends Memory and Brian who lost their beloved son Tinaye Chibaya, an 11-year-old boy, whose tragic death touched the hearts of thousands of people last year.
Tinaye died after suffering severe head injuries when he was dragged by a horse he was riding, during a family Easter holiday outing.
“Vakaita Sewe” is from her album “Ndisiyei” which was released earlier this year.
Recently Feli Nandi shared the stage with a host of musicians from across the continent, including the iconic Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the five-time Grammy-winning ensemble, at the 18th edition of MTN Bushfire Festival in eSwatini.
Seh is also preparing for her intimate “A Night with Feli Nandi” show at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton, Johannesburg, August.
She will then fly to Germany in October for another performance, this time at the Moto Moto Festival.
She is expected to share the stage with fellow Zimbabwean stars Mwenje Mathole, Mary Annibal, Mokoomba and Awa Khiwe.
