Athletics team reap medals at Sarpcco

bronze in the cross country finals for both women and men held at Ceccle Hirpique Race Course at the ongoing SARPCCO Games .
Trust Chidomaya outpaced a field of 31 athletes to win the men’s 12km cross country race, coming home first in a time of 32 minutes 43:49 seconds.
Zambia’s Vemry Hamalila finished second, clocking 32:51:39, and veteran Zimbabwe athlete Abel Chimukoko won a bronze medal in time of 33:03:13.
There were also medals for teams, as the first four athletes from the same country in top ten would automatically win the gold medal.
Zimbabwe again took the gold.
In the women’s 8km race, Namibia’s Beata Naigano romped home first in 25:43:22.
Faith Sanyika added to Zimbabwe’s medal tally when she finished second in time of 26:04:77.
The Zimbabwe women team managed to defend the gold medal they won in Malawi in 2009.
