‘AU Under-20 preps on course’

SPORTS Commission acting director-general Joseph Muchechetere has said preparations for this year’s African Union Sports Council Region Five Under-20 Youth Games in December are on course as they seek to meet the September 30 deadline for the submission of the final team.

The Games, running from December 9 to 18 in Luanda, Angola will see participants competing in athletics, boxing, basketball, swimming, judo, athletics for people with visual impairment, tennis, football and netball.

Muchechetere said they are expected to submit the final team by the end of this month and are in the process of finalising their list.
