Afro fusion artist, Mike “Ba Troy” Pagiwa, believes in upholding Ubuntu.
The gifted singer shared these sentiments following the release of his new single titled Sekuru Tasvu.
In an interview with H-Metro, the crooner who rose to prominence with his single Shungu Dzemoyo, said:
“I have been inspired by a number of people who uphold our cultural ways.
“I also decided to advise fellow Zimbabweans not to forget our culture by keeping and upholding our traditional ways of doing things.”
Ba Troy, who sounds like Jah Prayzah, has vowed to soldier on to achieve his goals.
“Many people have received this new single well and are also happy that I am doing my best to preserve our culture.
“Our traditional way of life is part of us and can’t be traded for anything else.”
He, however, conceded that he was facing many challenges in his musical journey.
“My music journey hasn’t been soft in 2022 because I’ve been facing sabotage.
“Air play has been limited, with suspected foul moves. I feel some people don’t want competition in this music business.
“But I am surely going to be on top if given the right floor to bring good music with a quenching message. I am on the right path. I need good management and committed followers to get genuine sponsors.
“I am grateful to Domain Aluminium for sponsoring my music and also my album launch. They bought my disc for US$5 000.”
