BULAWAYO Chiefs recorded their second consecutive win of the season after beating Yadah at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.
A first-half goal from Farau Matare and a second-half goal from Billy Veremu were enough to hand Amakhosi Amahle maximum points.
Veremu’s goal cancelled out Prosper Kafelapanjila’s equaliser.
Mthokozisi Msebe, who scored a goal and two assists in the 3-2 triumph over Dynamos last week, was involved in both goals.
He has been involved in all five goals scored by Chiefs in the last two matches.
After a good display of football by both sides, it took an excellent Msebe pass to Matare to break the deadlock in the 32nd minute.
Matare managed to round the charging Yadah goalkeeper, Panashe Nyabunga, to slot home and give Chiefs the lead.
Five minutes later, the home side had a chance to doubling their lead, but Matare’s header hit the crossbar from a Msebe free-kick.
Seven minutes before the break, the visitors launched a counter-attack and managed to hit the back of the net through Kafelapanjila to level matters.
Veremu later put Chiefs ahead with a well-executed header after a brilliant cross into the box by Msebe.
Chiefs coach Lizwe Sweswe believes the team’s recent success has been driven by morale and confidence.
“Of late, the boys have been doing well, and I am happy that we are coming up in terms of the operations of our systems of play.
“A coach will never be satisfied, but the boys are working so hard and I am happy for them,” said Sweswe.
Yadah coach Expense Chitukutuku was impressed with the quality of football displayed by both teams.
However, he felt let down by the result.
“The game was good,” he said.
“We came with a good game plan after watching them (Chiefs) play; we were in control of the first half and we managed to get an equaliser.
“These youngsters are making blunder after blunder, and I think we now have to work on their mentality before going into the game,” said Chitukutuku.
