THE bad blood between a feuding Mutasa man and his son is persisting, with the latter in trouble with the law for breaching a protection order.
Admire Chimbadzwa (26) of Chimbadzwa Village under Chief Mutasa, son of the complainant Booker Chimbadzwa (55), was charged with a contempt of court order as defined in Section 10(7) of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.
Prosecutor Mr Thurstone Mubvumbi outlined that in 2024, both Admire and Booker Chimbadzwa were given a protection order at the Mutasa Magistrate Courts, requiring them to not verbally or physically abuse each other and to maintain peace.
However, Admire allegedly failed to comply.
“It is alleged that earlier this year Admire shouted at his father, blocked his way and assaulted him all over the body with fists; thereby failing to abide by the protection order,” said Mr Mubvumbi.
The case was adjourned to May 20 and is still ongoing.
In his defense, Admire claimed there is bad blood between him and his father.
“My father is lying. He does not live with us as he has separate residence with another family. He recently took my grain after tricking me that I was being called by my grandmother, who lives meters away from us. My mother told me not to allow him in the house,” he said.
Admire intends to call a witness to testify on his side.
