has paid in full the tuition fees for the boys, in addition to sponsoring the players with cricket equipment, including playing kit and transport money to fulfil their fixtures.
Alvin Chiradza, who is the national team Under-14 cricket all-rounder, is one of the candidates offered a scholarship by Bakers Inn.
In total, 18 scholarships have been offered to Chipembere cricketers.
The scholarships will help the players attend a prominent cricket playing school and play against good oppositions.
This is the second year that Bakers Inn have partnered with Zimbabwe cricket to help develop the game in Zimbabwe at a grassroots level.
This year, Bakers Inn will extend their wings to other centres of excellence, which includes Chitungwiza.
Bakers Inn has also acquired a bowling machine, which is to be used by all the high density cricket centres around Harare.
Zimbabwe Cricket national junior coach David Mutendera said Bakers Inn will be looking to offer cricket scholarships to suitable future cricketers in other centres like Glen View, Budiriro, Mabvuku and Chitungwiza.
“We are happy with this noble gesture from Bakers Inn and hope that other sponsors also come on board and support in the development of cricket in the country,” he said.
