Another Zimbabwean in foreign lands is eying the golden boot award in classic fashion.
Former Highlanders striker Cleopas a?Balotellia? Dube now plying his trade in South Africaas National First Division League with Witbank Spurs is sitting on 12 goals.
He is behind the leading league scorer Thabiso KutumelaA of table leaders Baroka FC who is on 15. However, it will be a strain for Dube to catch up as there is only one match to go before the league concludes on Sunday.
Not the one to give up, Dube says he could spring a surprise like his compatriot Tendai Nyamadzawo did it in Botswana.
a?Iam very much confident that I will brew a shocker.A Last weekend I scored my third brace of the season,a? he said.
Spurs are also home to another former Bosso player Peter a?Rioa? Moyo and Takudzwa Ndoro- twin brother of Orlando Piratesa Tendai Ndoro. The team also hasA the forgotten twins Patrick and Peter Mubaiwa. Their last league match where Dube wants to steal the show will be against already relegated Moroka Swallows. Going into the last round of matches, Witbank Spurs sit on position four and a win against Swallows will see them go for playoffs with National First Division sides that will come out on position two and three.
The play offs will also feature an Absa Premiership club that will finish their campaign on position 15.
On 5 June, Witbank Spurs will hold their playersa awards ceremony and Dube looks set to smile all the way to the bank courtesy of his consistency, ball artistry and wizardry that he exhibited throughout their 2015/2016 league campaign. .
