MWOS forward Arthur Banda believes he will be among the top goalscorers by the end of the season. Banda has scored four goals this season and his side will this afternoon face in-form Hardrock in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League at their Ngoni fortress.

The striker is trailing top scorer Ralph Kawondera by five goals despite missing a few games due to injury and is looking forward to a win.

“I am now back at training and everything is going on well as I have fully recovered. It is every player’s wish to do well and as a striker, my job is to score goals so I am working hard to improve on my goal retention,” said Banda.

“It has been a good season for me and after I got injured recently, I missed a game or two, but I feel fine and ready to take it one match at a time. My wish is to help the team achieve season objectives, and I am hopeful that I will be challenging for the Golden Boot come end of season,” said Banda.

Turning to the match against Hardrock, Banda is confident they will continue from where they left off and collect maximum points.

Last week they got the better of troubled Triangle and that much-needed win is expected to raise Lloyd Mutasa’s boys’ confidence. And it was Banda who opened the scoresheet with a flashing header.

“A win obviously. I am confident that we will take all the three points on Saturday as we have been training hard throughout the week.

“The preparations we are doing and the work we have put in at training need to be rewarded through a win. This is a home game so we need our fans to have something to smile about.

“Without taking away anything from our opponents, we must utilise home advantage and avoid losing points.  After last week’s win it boosted our confidence as a team and we now feel the momentum and we want to keep going,” said Banda.

The clash with Hardrock will be the first meeting between the two sides.
