Banyana face Twiga Stars

Wo-men’s Championship tie at Gwanzura today.
The match kicks off at 12:30pm and will be followed by a game between Zimbabwe and Mozambique, making Gwanzura the place to be this afternoon.
The Mighty Warriors, who thrashed Ma-lawi 8-2 yesterday, would be out to finish top of their group.

All the teams are back in action this afternoon to complete their round robin matches with four losing teams packing their bags and returning home tomorrow.
Only the hosts Zimbabwe and Malawi were in action yesterday after their match was moved by a day to allow the Fifa boss Sepp Blatter to watch a Cosafa game.

While the Group B losing teams Botswana and Zambia would be playing for pride, after they were booted out of the tournament, there is still everything to play for in Group A, which is still wide open.
And Lesotho, who bounced back with a 3-2 victory against Mozambique, would be looking for a second victory to book a semi-final place.

But fireworks are expected at Gwanzura when South Africa clash against Tanzania.
Both teams have been playing refreshing football since the tournament started and are expected to go blow for blow.

Banyana Banyana and Twiga Stars have qualified for the All-Africa Games in Maputo in September and last year competed at the African Women’s Championships finals held in Johannesburg.
And South African coach Joseph Mkhonza is aware of the danger that lies ahead.

“We want to finish on top of the group.
“We are here to make sure we maintain the winning momentum because we are preparing for the most important game, the Olympic qualifier,” said Mkhonza.

The match will also see Banyana Banyana Noku Matlou, who has scored four goals, looking to improve on her tally.
Twiga Stars’ strikers Shuruwa Omary Mwahamisi and Asha Sada have scored two goals apiece are their form could be crucial.

At Rufaro, Botswana and Zambia clash for pride.
Botswana technical adviser Patrick Kowa said his charges want to win the match.

“We will play for pride but we must do our best and go home with something in our hand,” said Kowa.
Lesotho striker Boitumelo Rabale, who scored a hattrick against Mozambique, will once again hog the limelight in her team’s tie against Malawi.

Today:
Group A: Malawi v Lesotho (Rufaro, 3.15pm).
Zimbabwe v Mozambique (Gwanzura, 3.15pm).
Group B: South Africa v Tanzania (Gwanzura, 12.30pm)
Botswana v Zambia (Rufaro, 12.30pm).
