Barca slaves to tiki-taka

LONDON. — The European football media is reporting that Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has spilled the beans in a remarkable interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, to be released today.
Barca’s players have all been singing from the same songbook since Gerardo “Tata” Martino arrived at the club.
They all say that the Argentine was well-versed in Barca’s much-vaunted system of “tiki-taka” when he arrived to replace Tito Vilanova for the new season. The system had been ingrained at the Camp Nou by Pep Guardiola to great, almost revered effect, and it appears to be a club edict to insist that things have not changed under Tata.

But reports suggest that Pique is singing off key. He has admitted that under Guardiola, Barca “were slaves to tiki-taka”, and that the philosophy stagnated under Vilanova when Guardiola left. — Soccernet.
