heard yesterday.
Marian Ndawana, who had approached the court for a protection order, told the court that her husband Joseph Ndawana was physically, verbally and sexually abusing her.
“We are married in terms of Chapter 5:11 and he assaults me.
“Recently, he assaulted me after I refused to go to his late ex-girlfriend’s memorial service and pack her clothes,” she said.
The court heard that Joseph brought his girlfriends to their matrimonial home.
“I want him to be barred from bringing home his girlfriends as well as taking our children to their places of residence.
“I also want him to be barred from evicting me from the matrimonial home,” she said.
Ndawana did not deny the allegations but argued that his wife was relying on rumours.
“I physically assault her but I did not bring any girlfriend home.
“The problem is she is relying on other people’s words,” he said.
Magistrate Ms Renika Dzikiti, who heard the matter, granted the protection order.
