AFRO-FUSION musician, Trust “BaTania” Nzou, says he is not a musician by default.

The 45-year-old, who started off as a school teacher before he followed his passion as an artist, says he could not resist his calling for music.

Backed by the Afro Clan Band, the versatile singer reckons he has plenty to offer.

Largely inspired by everyday life, the singer will be unveiling his latest album, titled Sarunde on December 3, at Joy Centre in Highfield, an open air joint.

It carries six tracks namely Vhumbamira, Sango, Ngoma Yekwedu, Makatiparira, Zodzo Yemoyo and Gwara.

The album, which is a creative blend of fast paced jiti, Afro jazz and reggae, was produced by Maselo.

He is set to unveil two accompanying videos for the songs Vhumbamira and Ngoma Yekwedu.

The place is also known for weaning off a number of artists currently making waves in the local showbiz landscape.

Names that instantly come to mind include Tendai Dembo, Mark Ngwazi and Faheem Somanje.

“Everything is now in place and I am very grateful to my team, producers and family for being there for me.

“We are launching the album Sarunde on the 3rd of December and it is my wish that many people will embrace it.

“I have been sampling some of the songs during my live performances and I can safely say the response has been overwhelming,” he said.

BaTania has vowed to hold a series of live shows during the festive season.

“I have lined up so many shows to ensure that I market the brand BaTania.

“It’s a new brand that I hope will continue to win the hearts of many.”

Tendai Dembo, Faheem Somanje, First Farai and Romeo Gasa are set to grace the event.
