The league championship race starts on March 18.

Highlanders versus Dynamos has always been one of the standout fixtures on the calendar in the Castle Premier Soccer League.

The Glamour Boys have a new technical team, led by Herbert Maruwa.

The coaching staff also has Genesis Mangombe as his first assistant and Murape Murape as his second assistant.

Dynamos have already added 13 players to their squad as they look to break the nine-year-long wait for the championship.

They last won the league title in 2014 under the guidance of Callisto Pasuwa.

DeMbare are hoping they will celebrate their 60th birthday anniversary in style by winning the league.

Highlanders have not been heavily involved in the transfer market.

They have focused on promoting youngsters from their academy, Bosso 90. However, Bosso have lost the services of vice-captain Nqobizitha Masuku, who went to Botswana, and Adrian Silla, who joined CAPS United.

Dynamos will be facing promoted Hwange at the colliery in their first encounter while Highlanders’ first test will be against ZPC Kariba, who survived relegation by a thread last season.

Defending champions FC Platinum will be hoping to pen their name in the history books of Zimbabwean football as the first club to win the championship five times on the bounce.

In their quest for glory, they are set to face newboys Simba Bhora, in their first game.

The champions have already retained the majority of last season’s squad.

On Match Day Five, Norman Mapeza’s men will take on CAPS United, the last club to win the league before the Zvishavane team started their dominance.

The Green Machine will begin their journey with a battle against Manica Diamonds.

Last season there was a major outcry as many fans chose to stay away from the stadiums.

Only Barbourfields appeared full of life on the occasions Bosso were at home.
