COMEDIAN Nigel Maritinyu, better known as Nijo, is committed to supporting Zimbabwean content creators based in South Africa develop their careers.

In an interview, Nijo said he will link up with content creators for a collaborative content creation workshop next month.

“I have a brilliant idea for all content creators in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town.

“We will have a content workshop where I will share tips on tools for content creation, script writing, casting, publishing and monetising content.

“After that, we will shoot some skits together which every participant is free to post on their own platforms to help grow their following,” he said.

“We relate culturally, our language is the same and we share the same values.

“Most of the content creators are limited by lack of cameras, microphones and lights, but that does not guarantee good quality videos.

“I want to share with them my personal experience, up to now. I use my phone, but still produce good videos,” he said.

Nijo said there is a lot of competition on social media which requires determination.

“Some of the scripts are not properly written and they lack captivating introductions and endings. So we want to ensure that they develop their skills,” he said.
