It may just be exciting times for local television. It will be folly though to assume that people will just move from their dear DSTV packages for local television because it has just arrived.

Well, it is possible, we used to be glued to our screens with many local programmes and I feel, Insuku Zokucina, a telenova in the making will do just that,A re-ignite the fire.

The story follows Zamani, a young prosperity prophet who suddenly finds himself entangled in a web of secrecy, scandals, and conspiracies around his faith and personal life.

The life of a religious leader is difficult to separate from his religious life. When the young Prophet Zamani tries to follow his heart he plunges into sin and this compromises his relationship with God and the church.

He finds himself unable to perform miracles or pray properly, plunging the church into a crisis.

When this happens his confidante and assistant Smaller sees an opportunity to take over the church. He consults a powerful traditional healer who gives him powerful charms to confuse Zamani more.

Zamani is arrested for rape. A serious scandal for the church. Smaller is on the verge of taking over the church and turn it into something. Zamani has to sort out his life, fighting tooth and nail, to save everything he has and stands for.

a?We have already shot one episode thanks to the projects partner and funder- Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe under their content creation in preparation for digitalisation,a? said playwright Raisedon Baya.

The telenova is directed by William Nyandoro andA features old and new talents such as award winning actor Memory Kumbota who plays Zamani, Donna N, who plays Anele and Elton Sebekhona Sibanda who plays Smaller.

The trio are ably assisted by seasoned arts practitioners Thulani Mbambo, Precious Makhulumo of Amakorokoza fame, Naison Twala, Musawenkosi Sibanda, Mncedisi Moyo, Abigail Dube, Bright Sibanda and former Star FM presenter Langelihle Ndlovu to name a few.
