THE Bulawayo Corporate Social Soccer League (BSCL) recently got a new executive that will be chaired by Timothy Mandizadza.

Mandizadza is a former Bulawayo Christian League (BCL) leader.

At BCSSL, Mandizadza will be deputised by Blessing Masimbe, and King Zulu is the secretary-general.

Odecious Mareveverwa has assumed the role of fixtures secretary while Onias Musoni retained his position as treasurer.

Speaking on their vision and plans for the BCSSL, Mandizadza said they are planning to have more tournaments and to introduce family fun days.
‘We are planning to have more action, that is, more contests and also to have all-round programmes for the whole family, basically. This is a corporate soccer league that seeks to give workers time to exercise their bodies and stay healthy,” said Mandizadza.

He added, “We want to keep them with family, which also helps the mind to relax and refresh. So after our games, we hope to have workers who are geared for nation-building. Also, our target is to keep our youth off the scourge of drug abuse by getting them busy during their time away from work stations.”

Last season, the league had 16 teams, and they have been joined by two more clubs, which are Grills and Lonestar.
“We are happy to welcome these two teams,” said Mandizadza.

In 2025, the league had Speed Shipping, Simbisa, Warehouse Distribution, Evergold, Overnight, ZRP Donnington, Ostrich, ZETDC (W), McDonald’s, Bricks, Proton, Zimtile, Nust, Coca-Cola, Value Gas, Millenium and Chibuku.

Established several years ago, the league’s action takes place on Saturdays at various local football venues that include Raylton, Nust, Emakhandeni Ground, Fairbridge and Gifford High School, among other venues dotted around the city. @FungaiMuderere
