BEEFY TO LEAD ARENEL MOVERS

ARENEL Movers club administrator, Juma Phiri, has confirmed that Philani “Beefy” Ncube will be in charge of the team when they face Herentals in a mid-week league encounter at Rufaro this afternoon.

Phiri said Ncube will take charge of the team in the absence of Farai Tawachera, who was suspended for failing to get the results the club was demanding.

Arenel are bottom of the table with just one win in 19 games.

The Premiership newboys have eight stalemates to their name and 10 defeats.

They have amassed just 11 points so far.

“It’s not true that the coach was sacked. Actually, he is on suspension. As you know results have not been coming hence we had to take some kind of action,” said Phiri.

Contacted for a comment, Tawachera appeared surprised at the club’s announcement that he was on suspension.

“Suspension? Then I have to pose this question to you? What are the procedures when someone is suspended?

“Aren’t papers supposed to be served upon the accused? I have no further comment,” said Tawachera.

However, Zimpapers Sport understands Tawachera was called to a meeting on Monday night where they agreed that he should leave.

Management had not been happy with him continuously asking questions on how the club was being run.

Arenel have gone to some of their matches without training or camping.

The players are also owed several months’ salaries.
