A BOOZE brawl turned deadly at Nyika Secondary School Grounds in Mhondoro Ngezi when a man was fatally stabbed in the chest after a beer row.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed on X, the arrest of Tinashe Chamunorwa (37) in connection with the murder of Mugove Katsande, who died on 27 June 2025.
According to police, Chamunorwa snatched Katsande’s beer and poured it onto the ground, sparking a heated argument. The situation spiraled out of control and Chamunorwa allegedly pulled out a Columbia knife and drove it into Katsande’s chest, killing him on the spot.
Police have launched a manhunt for Vengai Chihiya, who is believed to have been involved in the incident. The police urge anyone with information on Chihiya’s whereabouts to report at any nearest police station.
The community is still reeling from the shocking incident, which turned what was supposed to be a chill-out session into a crime scene.
