Beitbridge Municipality is carrying out maintenance works at Dulivhadzimu Stadium, which hosts most of the town’s major activities, ahead of the start of this year’s soccer season.
Some of the major activities that are held at the stadium include the annual Beitbridge Expo and home matches for Division One sides Dulivhadzimu FC and newly promoted Vhembe Stars who play in the Central Region Soccer League (CRSL).
In addition, the facility has the capacity to hold significant crowds, making it a key location for entertainment and sports in the district and province.

It also plays a role in promoting local talent and engaging the community through sports initiatives.
Besides its ageing infrastructure, the stadium, which is located in a low-lying area, is perennially affected by flash floods.
Town Clerk, Loud Ramakgapola, said the stadium was closed for business in December last year and it would re-open during the first week of March.
“We are currently carrying out maintenance work in preparation for the new season after we closed it in December 2025. We will be open by 1 March, 2026,” said Ramakgapola.
“This week, we had an inspection team from the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) to check its suitability for hosting 2026 Division One matches. We have not received their feedback but we hope they will allow us to host the matches.”
It is understood that plans are in the pipeline for the local authority to construct a modern stadium in line with the town’s transformation.
The stadium’s closure will see the community relying on Ronnie’s Sports Arena, some 7km north of the border town, along the Beitbridge-Masvingo Road.
Previously, Dulivhadzimu Stadium was home ground for then Premier Soccer League teams from Beitbridge, Underhill FC, Triple B and Border Strikers.
