In a chat with KickOff.com, Bafana Bafana’s leading goalscorer of all time with 31 goals says the young strikers that were not used in the match against Ivory Coast must be given a chance against Zimbabwe.
“Bafana did well against Ivory Coast. They managed a 1-1 draw against the top team in Africa, which is very commendable,” he says.
“The coach must be encouraged to experiment against Zimbabwe because that is the purpose of friendly matches.
“He must try out new combinations and throw in the younger players, especially the strikers that did not play against Ivory Coast.”
Mosimane is largely expected to field the likes of Turkish-based striker Bradley Grobler and Jomo Cosmos hitman Siyabonga Nontshinga against Zimbabwe, while resting regulars such as Katlego Mphela, Steven Pienaar, Tsepo Masilela, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Kagisho Dikgacoi.
The midfield trio of George Lebese (Kaizer Chiefs), Granwald Scott and George Maluleka (both Ajax Cape Town) are also expected to start against the Warriors of Zimbabwe as Mosimane looks to test the depth of his 28-member squad. – KickOff.com.
