Bhasera bounces back

he is back and ready to reclaim his jersey.

The left back, who plays for English League Two side Plymouth Argyle, declared that he was fit and ready to assist the Warriors in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
“It feels great to be back again after a long time on the sidelines. It has been a very difficult time. It was hard on me both physically and emotionally but I would like to thank God that I am fit again.
“After playing three full matches and also scoring in one of the games I can say, I am back,” said Bhasera.

Bhasera, who featured in the opening match for the Warriors in the previous campaign playing a blinding match in the 1-1 draw against Liberia in Monrovia, and the infamous goalless draw against Cape Verde in Harare, missed the rest of the qualifiers with an injury.
He has recovered and has resumed play at his troubled team – which faces a second straight relegation, having been in the Championship (Division One) in the 2009-10 season.

“I damaged my ACL anterior cruciate ligaments on my knee and it was repaired and the surgery was successful. I received one of the best medical treatments and I am glad God made me sail through the emotional and physical pain.

“My family supported me all the way,” said Bhasera.
The former Kaizer Chiefs defender said he is itching to don the Zimbabwean jersey again.
“I am available to play for the national team. It is an honour to play for the Warriors and as long as I am fit I’m ready to represent my beloved nation.

“I would like to assist my team to qualify for the two major tournaments,” said Bhasera.
The defender said it was devastating to watch on the sidelines as the team failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations after a promising start.

“I felt bad because it is every player’s wish to play at such big tournaments like the Nations Cup. It was more devastating for me as I could not play a part, though I feel the lads played well.
“I take solace from the fact that we are a young team and we can still learn and improve with more game time.

“Hopefully, we will get it right this time in the coming qualifiers” said Bhasera.
The defender recovers to find that the field has changed in his absence. Belgium-based Vusa Nyoni has comfortably fitted in the left back position and played his heart out in the qualifiers and was one

of the best players in the failed campaign. In the last international friendly match against South Africa, coach Norman Mapeza rested Nyoni and introduced Zhaimu Jambo who also shone on the flank.
But the former Harare United man is unfazed and believes he can get back his jersey.

“Competition is always good for both the team and the players because it brings the best out of the players hence good results for the team.
“Vusa and Zhaimu are all good left footers and I will be looking forward to reclaiming my jersey. I must admit it won’t be easy because they have come up with some good performances,” said Bhasera.

The defender, highly rated for his awareness, work rate and passing skills, is hopeful that he will shrug off injuries and maybe have a go for the Premiership.
“I see myself playing in the best leagues of Europe, possibly the Premiership. I need to work extra hard and I know I will get there.

“In the past I have been so unfortunate with injuries but I am ready to receive my breakthrough because I am feeling great physically and mentally. I believe and trust in God and I know 2012 is my year,” said Bhasera.
