HE has been attracting the headlines with his car donation blitz, in which he has been empowering many musicians, and on Saturday night, businessman Wicknell Chivayo was part of the A-List guests at the SHUTDOWN concert at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Superstar Jah Prayzah, the man who has so far received the most expensive of the gifts of car with his Mercedes Benz costing a cool US$180 000, headlined the super show.

Chivayo, who was in the company of his friend and fellow businessman Scott Sakupwanya, was clearly enjoying the show.

The two businessmen were as much the centre of attraction, among some of the fans who attended the show, as the artists they came to watch in action.

The SHUTDOWN concert, featuring a galaxy of the country’s biggest stars, lived up to expectations.

Hundreds of fans paid their way into the auditorium and were treated to excellent performances from the headline acts at the Redefined Concert.

Organised by Gateway Stream Media, the Shutdown concert was a sold-out show and success for the promoters.

There had been concern that the winter conditions might keep the fans away from the show.

But, the star power of the musicians who were on show, led by Jah Prayzah, was irresistible and attracted some of the biggest names in the capital.

The show was characterised by pomp and fanfare as several musicians took turns to serenade the enthusiastic crowd.

Killer T had a good day at the office as most of his hits were well received by the fans. It’s very clear that the Chairman has created a profile that has now earned him a place among the heavyweights on the domestic musical scene.

The hit songs ‘Wakandigona’, ‘Takangodaro’ and “Takumbofarawo” were a hit with the fans.

There was a thunderous response when Jah Prayzah came onto the stage.

Such was the excellence of the performance by all the artists that social media, which is always quick to judge who won or lost whenever these heavyweights clash, was muted yesterday.

Many were just saluting the artists for a fine show.

Feli Nandi has turned into a very fine artist and is holding her own among the “heavyweight boys.”

Rising artist Master H said it was a dream come true to share the stage with these heavyweights.

Master H left the crowd clamouring for more in what was probably one of his best performances.

His stage communication, interaction and, of course, his body language proved that he meant business.

Master H connected with the crowd with sing-along tracks like ‘Nawanadem Remix’, ‘Too Good’ and ‘Zvoendwa.’

Freeman is always professional to the core and this was another beautiful and solid display by him.
