Billiat’s return set to boost Chiefs

JOHANNESBURG. Kaizer Chiefs’ attacking options will widen this weekend with the return to action of star attacker Khama Billiat as the MTN8 semi-finals get underway after the international break.

Chiefs will host the first leg at FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon with the return leg scheduled for October 23 in Durban.

Billiat missed the previous two encounters against Marumo Gallants and SuperSport United after suffering knee discomfort against AmaZulu at the beginning of this month.

The Zimbabwean has since returned to training during the current international break and will be in contention for selection this weekend.

Head coach Arthur Zwane recently stated that Billiat will most likely feature whenever available for selection.

Billiat is into his fifth season at Chiefs and still hasn’t won any silverware which always becomes a subject of interest whenever there is a cup competition to be played as knockout football provides the fastest route to winning a trophy.

Not only has the 32-year-old failed to win trophies with Chiefs, his returns have been a concern compared to what he has done at his previous clubs Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns. – KickOff
