“I just played my normal game and the result is good for me especially going into the second and final round.
“I thought a five-under 67 would take the lead.
“I will just try to keep my head down in the second round,” said Bismark.
Kayyam Mandhu, who recently turned professional, was in second place.
Mandhu is playing his debut professional.
The Royal Harare-based Mandhu was tied with Julius “Shoes” Kamalizeni and Robson Saurombe on second place.
Kamalizeni, who did not take part in most of the events last year due to illness, believes he is now back in his groove.
“I was out of the game for a while but I believe I am back, the conditions were good and I believe if I can do well again today it will help me to prepare for the Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open.
“The field is competitive and every one is playing well so I will take each shot as it comes,” Kamalizeni said.
Saurombe had a decent first nine yesterday and could have finished tied with Bismark but a poor chip on hole number 17 saw him drop a shot.
The three players finished on one-under-par 70.
Mandhu and Kamalizeni will join Bismark in today’s last ball while Saurombe, Musemburi and Goddard will be behind in the second last ball.
Jessie Nyakatawa had the privilege to play with the professionals and she gave a good account for herself.
Four amateurs taking part were shown they still have something to learn before competing at the highest level as they all finished out of top 15 after the first round.
Meanwhile, the Chitungwiza Central Hospital fundraising golf day was launched yesterday.
The golf day is aimed at raising funds for the building of a maternity ward, opportunistic infections clinic and refurbishment of the male and female wards.
