BLABBERMOUTH: Not all that glitters is gold!

WHAT is this that we hear about varying amounts of money that this other street banker, who breathed his last recently under largely unexpected circumstances, owed different people?
I mean this other money changer, who died in a recent horrific car accident, a jolly good fella, who took advantage of his looks and eloquence to convince people to lend him some money.
This bozo was known to some as a mere taxi driver although we knew that he also doubled as a money changer, operating near that other supermarket with a global brand.
In fact, this dude was a real hustler, who also sourced money from electricity tokens sales, as well as lending money to people for a considerable interest in return.
For those who might not have known him well, he is one person, who made everyone around him believe that all was well for him.
This is the reason why people did not have any difficulties in lending him various amounts of money. He made all believe that things were rosy for him.
Unfortunately, Blabber is now aware of the number and identity of people whom he owned varying amounts of money, and as fate would have it, they seem to admit that they have all lost out.
It was, not only about people who lost their money, but even well-known slay queens in the city gave in to this charlatan, thinking he was doing well – alas, they all soon realise that they themselves might be leading a better lifestyle than him.
Such is the life – there are people who seem to be doing well, and yet under the thin veil of a good life they show us, lies insurmountable financial and social challenges they will be grappling with.
The moral lesson from it all is – all that glitters is not gold!
Oh by the way, what is this that we hear about this other businessman, who must have had many more years to live, but his weakness for sweetness led him to an early grave.
I mean this other well-to-do chap, who used to breed horses a few kilometres outside our beautiful city.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that behind his love for that African musical beat that he would sing and dance to all night long lay his inability to sleep home.
Yes, you heard me right, he hardly had time to sleep at home at night! Even though he was born in a relatively moneyed family, with a well-heeled sister in the diaspora, those that were close to him told Blabber of how he partook in rituals to boost his financial fortunes, and because of that some ‘things’ haunted him to the extent that he could hardly sleep at home.
One again, the moral lesson is – all that glitters is not gold! Yours Truly will not talk about his insatiable appetite for the fairer sex, and even when he met his demise, he was in the company of, not just one, but several concubines.
You see, Blabber does not celebrate misfortune, and fully understands that we are encouraged to speak good about the dead, but how will our younger ones learn if we remain silent about the daylight shenanigans that these dudes and slay queens do?
Even the Bible exonerates Yours Truly when it says – for we shall not remain silent about what we have seen and heard.
Have a blessed weekend!
